  14. An Army Fully Mobilized

A GREAT FALLING AWAY FROM JESUS' TRUE CHURCH TO LAWLESSNESS


In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-7 we read, "3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Remember not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will do so, until he is taken out of the way." This is a picture of our present situation. The great falling away has been heating up for some time. It is becoming more intense. It appears the Temple will be built before the second coming of Jesus. Also, the antichrist will come into power before Jesus Christ comes back.


A LACK OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE IS DESTROYING THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST


In Facet 5, "A Good Vine in a Wild Vineyard," 20 things are presented to you that show how to purge "dead wood" out of the Christian Church. This is in the area of Church discipline. In the same way a fruit tree needs to be pruned of "dead wood", the church must "cut out" members in the church that are enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will greatly enhance the witness and outreach of Jesus' church. A lack of church discipline has rendered our churches powerless to have any good influence for God and His love for the human race. When everything goes in our churches, everyone goes to the dogs. THE TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST IS VERY UNIQUE


It functions in all of the above areas. We are servants and God is our Lord. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are called to a life of holiness. We are not like people who do not love God. We live a life of love for God, others and ourselves. This is a love that manifests itself through the fruit of the Holy Spirit recorded in Galatians 5:22-26. We have the wisdom which is above, which is recorded in James 3:17-18. The word Christian means like Jesus. Jesus is the One we follow.  We have the love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the solid foundation and we are the lively stones. Jesus is the Good Vine and we are the branches that bring forth much fruit. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and we are His sheep. Jesus is the Head of the united body and we are members with various functions. We are a great fellowship of faithful followers of Jesus. We are a chosen generation of born-again, Spirit-filled Christians. We are looking forward to the new heavens and a new earth when Jesus bodily returns in all His glory. Every eye will behold Him. The Church is the bride of Christ Jesus. Jesus is the Groom. Jesus is the High Priest and we are a priesthood of believers. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords in His kingdom. We are the citizens of His holy nation. Jesus is the Captain of our salvation. We are the ministers of reconciliation and ambassadors for Jesus. We are the soldiers in Jesus' army.
